The campaign
A model of education where students have complete responsibility for their education. The school is run by direct democracy, which makes every Sudbury School different in its own way.
The main goal was to create a communications strategy that shared its core values and vision with its customers and translated it into compelling visual communication materials.
The main objective was to increase awareness and generate leads that will, in turn, be walked through the process hand-in-hand to evaluate if the student, family, and school match each other.
My role:
Develop and Execute Comprehensive Marketing and Promotion Strategy:
Created and implemented a dynamic marketing and promotion strategy to boost brand visibility and drive growth.
Budget Management:
Drafted, oversaw, and managed administrative and marketing budgets for efficient resource allocation.
Community Engagement and Outreach:
Led outreach initiatives, event marketing, and community engagement efforts to connect with our target audience.
Copywriting and Editing:
Crafted and edited compelling content for various channels, including social media, websites, emails, advertisements, press releases, customer support, and event materials.
Blog Post Management:
Sourceed and edited engaging blog posts in collaboration with parents, guardians, stakeholders, and students.
Website Enhancement:
Revamped the website and landing pages to provide a more user-friendly experience while optimizing SEO performance.
Introduced a dedicated parent portal to streamline communication, facilitate billing processes, and track essential documents.
Marketing Material Creation:
Developed print and digital marketing collateral, such as brochures and business cards.
Created, designed, and coordinated digital assets such as social media content, website imagery, and parent newsletter.
Event Coordination:
Organized and executed marketing and community events, supervising volunteers, students, and staff members.
Brand Enhancement:
Enhanced brand recognition and extend reach, resulting in a notable increase in student enrollment.
Recruitment Training:
Created and implemented content-based recruitment training programs for staff and volunteers, including identifying impactful stories to share at events.
Administrative Duties:
Oversaw day-to-day school operations, including staffing, regulatory compliance, budget administration, and event planning.
Team Leadership:
Led and managed staff and volunteer teams, coordinating schedules, payroll, performance reviews, and reporting.
Resource Management:
Sourced and maintained a comprehensive resources page, offering families alternative avenues to explore our model and experiences.
PR Engagements:
Actively participated in PR activities, such as appearances on the "Fare of the Free Child" podcast and panel discussions at events like the "Racial Equity in Self-Directed Education Summit" hosted by Heartwood ALC.
Thanks to the successful execution of this marketing strategy, we achieved remarkable results in just one year. Our efforts significantly bolstered brand recognition, expanded our reach, and resulted in a doubling of student enrollment.
